On February 25th 2025, it took place the opening at the Port of Huelva. The ASEC project was presented at the Port facilities and at the Ingeniero Juan Gonzalo Dock, where the plant is located, represented a milestone for the company Water Challenge, which culminates several years of development of the optimised technology by entering its commercial phase, and for the Port of Huelva, which consolidates its position as a sustainable port of reference. More than 140 visitors attended the event, among them local and regional authorities, potential customers, investors, collaboration partners, organizations and institutions interested in the technology from sectors such as mining, agriculture, energy, and chemist, among others. This consisted of a first stage presentation with the CEO Picht presenting the company, history and evolution of the technology. And a second term, with the translation of the guests to the port of Huelva installations of the ASEC pilot plant. The Technical Director showed the technology operating fundamentals with a new educational video of the interior of the plant and its operation. The pilot plant was shown from the inner and the outside to the guests, who could see, touch and drink the by-products (water and solids).
The Evolution|Innovation Forward 20th Anniversary (October 23rd) event featured Susana García, CEO of Water Challenge, in a roundtable discussion on the future of sustainability and EIC funding. Susana drove transformational projects across key sectors and led Water Challenge to secure an EIC Accelerator grant for an innovative €3.5 million project. During the round table, she shared how this funding has accelerated the development of our fluid treatment technology to advance towards a more sustainable future, aligned with the Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals.
This congress searched for integrated solutions to build a water positive future. Water Challenge increased its international network in a busy timetable of both formal and informal networking events. Water Challenge was selected together other 19 companies to introduce the Pitch Desk of the ASEC project to search for new funding opportunities to high level European investors interested in Climate Tech.

The national journal “La Razon” published in the business section some societies and companies with an extraordinary economic success and projection. Water Challenge is presented as a successful case for offering a sustainable disruptive technology for the treatment of dredged materials and other contaminant port effluents.
